Our history
Founded in 2002, after the loss of Officer Jessica Nagle-Wilson
The Metro Detroit Police and Fire Pipes and Drums was formed after the death of Hazel Park Police Officer Jessica Nagle-Wilson. Today the band pays tribute to fallen officers and firefighters throughout Michigan, at the request of their families, law enforcement agencies and fire departments.
Every member is a current or retired police officer or firefighter. The band plays these services free of charge.
Our mission
To pay tribute and honor to police officers and firefighters throughout the State of Michigan that are killed in the line of duty, by providing music at funeral services when requested by the family or the respective agency.

Pipers and drummers wanted. No experience needed.
We're seeking pipers and drummers of any experience level. Never played? We'll teach you.
- Currently employed by, or retired from, a police or fire department
- Any experience level, from first-timer to seasoned player
- Members purchase their own bagpipes

We also play weddings, parties and other special occasions, because it keeps us in practice. Fees are based on the length of the appearance and the number of members attending.
